Sight Word Worksheet Freebie

Sight Word Worksheet

This school year I vowed to spend more time teaching sight words.  Everyday we chant through our sight words and play a game with them.  This seems to be working really well because my students are doing AWESOME learning their words. And, let me tell you, we have A LOT of words.  134 to be exact. Yes, that is how many words my kindergarteners have to know.  It is a lot of words, however they do a great job at learning them every year. (Way to go students).  Besides playing games with the words I wanted something else that would help the students learn how to spell the words.  This is what I came up with.  I have it here as a free download for you.  :-)    (I plan on making more, but this is how far I got tonight.)

This worksheet has numerous parts to it.  First the student puts their name on it.  Then they color the letters according to the key.  Then they practice writing the word with correct letter formation.  Next they color the boxes that say the sight word we are working on in.  Then the cut the boxes at the bottom of the page with the letters in them and glue them spelling the word correctly.  I haven't used this yet, but I do plan on adding to my plans tomorrow to see how it works.  Let me know what you think.  I hope you like it.  Enjoy!

I noticed the spacing isn't exactly correct using Google Docs.  If you rather have me email you a copy, please leave a comment with your email address.
