My Math Vocabulary Posters

Do you use My Math?  How do you like teaching vocabulary?

I have made some vocabulary posters that correlate to the My Math program.

When I teach vocabulary to my students, I always start out with using Mirrors and Words (WBT).  Then we go on and do Teach! Okay!.  I absolutely love this way to teach my kiddos vocabulary.  The students LOVE learning vocabulary this way.  It makes it fun for them!  I plan on using these posters as my Power Pixs for Math.  This way I have all of the vocabulary my students need to learn for the year.

On each poster there is a vocabulary word.  The definition. A visual to help the students learn the vocabulary and the correlating lesson.

I can't wait to print these off and begin using them.  I hope you like them too.  Please click the picture to take you to my store.

Florida Standards Posters

I have made a new product.  Wahoo!!

Do you have to hang up standards in your classroom?

We do at my school so I wanted something sparkly to hang up for my "I can" statements this year.  Since my classroom is black and white I had to keep it with my theme.   This is what I came up with.

Every Florida Standard is written out on a half page in an "I can" statement.  Each standard has the number of the standard on the top right for easy organization.

Just print out the packet and cut in half.  Your standards will be posted for everyone to know what you are teaching.

Check out the packet here

I bought this board at Hobby Lobby to put my standards on.  I think these will look fabulous on there.

Monday Made It #2- Happy Birthday

Check out my next Monday Made It!

I LOVE Hobby Lobby.  I went to check the place out and see what I could find.  I always have to check out the clearance section.  I am SO glad I did.  I found this amazing board.

I saw it and knew I had to get it.  I mean, come on, it is the correct colors for my classroom.  Plus it was only 4 bucks.

I knew I wanted to make something new for my classroom birthdays. This would be perfect.  This is what I made.

The black boards are chalkboards.  I am going to use the chalk markers to write the kiddos name and birthdate on.

I can't wait to hang it up in my room!

Dining Room Table Makeover

Happy summer!  I hope your summer is going well!  I have been busy hanging out with my boys and redoing my dining room table.

Have you ever looked at your furniture and just wanted something different?

I used to love my dining room table.  I bought the table for my first house.  It was an older house and the naughty wood table looked perfect.  But, it has been awhile since I bought it, and my house has changed.  I want something different.

So...

project makeover dining room table begins!

Here is my my lovely table.
(Sorry I forgot to take a picture of the whole table so I had to take half of the table since one side is already stripped.)

Nothing wrong with the table, but I just wanted something different.

I started by stripping the table.  I used Citristrip.  It made it super easy to do.  Spray on and wait 30 minutes.  Scrape off.  Easy Peasy.

Then my hubby added a filler to the decorative groove.  I have hated the decorative groove since I bought it.  Food has always gotten stuck in the groove.  Gross!!

Filled!  Wahoo!!

Next, the hubby added a cherry stain to the table.  I painted the legs  white.

I also painted the chairs white.

Next, was my favorite part.  I distressed the white part of the table and the chairs.

Last, I waxed the painted parts and hubby put poly on the table top.

Ta-da!!!  It is all finished!

Now, I need to figure out what I am going to put on the middle of the table.

Here are a couple more pictures of the table and chairs so you can see the distressed parts.  I don't think the pictures do it justice.

We also added new coverings to the seat cushions.  2 black and 2 in the damask print.

I love how it turned out.  It goes great with my black distressed buffet table.  Now I need to paint my curio cabinet.
I hope you have enjoyed my makeover.

Update: I've added a center piece to the table.  My mom made the flower arrangement.  I love how it turned out.
