My son and I were out and about yesterday and we came across these...
HUGE fly swatters!! The Dollar Tree had these. When I saw them I just had to get them. They are perfect for the sight word game SWAT. I have always used little fly swatters for this game but now I will use these. If you don't know what the game of SWAT is, it is a sight word game that you lay the sight word cards all over the floor. Then you assign the students into two teams. One person from each team comes up and they get the fly swatter to swat the word that I tell them. The first person to swat the word gets a point. The team with the highest points win. I do give them rules about using the fly swatter, like they can't raise it above their head so the game stays safe. I am so excited about these swatters that I just had to share with you.
The closest Dollar Tree to me is 45 minutes away but they always have the best stuff... I hope they have these at the store near me! I know where I'll be making a trip to this week!
ReplyDeleteGosh, that is a long drive. I have a few of them around me. I hope they have some when you go.

I switch up the games too so the students stay excited for them. I think these fly swatters will get them more excited.

I recently found flyswatters at Wal-Mart where the swatting end actually said SPLAT! They were so cute so of course I bought them with a game in mind (not flies). Now I know what to do with them! Thanks!
