Do your students or kids love to build things? I know mine do!
I love how building things has kids use their imagination and their motor skills. Things all kids should be using! It is easy to forgot about hands-on toys with technology, but they are so important too. Blocks are great things to add to your STEM block or Fine Motor centers.
When the package of Keva Structures 200 Plank Set showed up to our house and I opened it, my kids were super excited to play with them. I decided to have my own children test them out first, then I would take them to school.
Not only were my kids fascinated with the Planks but so was my husband.

He enjoyed trying to build the structures that were in the book that came with the 200 piece Structure Box. We found that building on the carpet made it difficult for the structures to stay built. Building on a flat surface is better.
My boys and kids love building with these and I know your students and/or kids would too!
This week I brought the Keva Structures to my classroom. I was excited to see the kiddos reaction to them. We made a center out of them.
The first day we use the Structures the kids had so much fun building with them. They were building structures flat against the ground.
The different kiddos that were using them had a blast with them! They thought they were so much fun. The boys AND the girls loved them.
It was interesting throughout the week to see what they choose to do with them. I noticed their creativity was growing and their flat structures were becoming 3D structures.
By Friday, all the students were completely involved in building with them. They hated when their time was up for this center. Their structures were growing in size the more we used them. I loved watching them figure out which way to put the next block.
As you can see their structures were growing towards the ceiling by the end of the week. They were figuring out how to place them to make them grow.
Keva Structures are great for the classroom and/or at home! Students all ages LOVE them. They are simple blocks but with a little imagination the blocks turn into great big structures that require students to use problem solving skills, motor skills, balance, and geometry. I know those are important skills I want my students to have. These toys that teach are great for building brain power. I recommend Keva Structures for ALL classrooms and homes. If your school has a makerspace, these would be perfect.
Keva also has the Brain Builders and the Brain Builders Jr. These make a quick center for your classroom. These have cards in them that give students an idea what to build. The Jr. set has pictures of letters the students can build. How great is that for kindergarten?
I hope you will check Keva Structures out and give them a try. I would love to hear how you are incorporating them and what you think. Go to MindWare to grab your own.
Have a Wolfelicious day!
